Our story
The Beginning
Though Nation.better is a London-based tech company, Larisa Budaeva's (our CEO) journey didn't start there. Born in Russia, Larisa studied, worked, and lived in 3 different countries while learning the ropes of financial management and consultancy. And in each of the foreign lands, she underwent complex, daunting, and confusing immigration processes - including the UK.
The light-bulb moment
As you may or may not know, the UK immigration process is full of confusing (sometimes stressful) and time-consuming admin work. Experiencing this process first-hand, Larisa knew there had to be a better way. And with inspiration from AI and Machine Learning, she had a light-bulb moment: Digital Automation!
The birth of Nation.better
With her newfound idea, Larisa had a vision: To provide employers and their international talent a simple, optimised, and affordable immigration journey. But she couldn't do this alone, so she founded Nation.better and began building a team of experts that share her passion. Cue the birth of the UK's first digital streamlined immigration platform!
Where we are today
We've received funding from Bethnal Green Ventures, Innovate UK, and social impact UK and US angel investors, all sharing our same passion - diverse workforces and ease of immigration. By leveraging AI, Machine Learning, and automation, we help companies significantly reduce immigration legal costs, automate admin work and streamline immigration processes to provide UK companies a chance to delve into a wider pool of talent.
