To be eligible for sponsorship, your candidates must accumulate at least 70 points, consisting of 50 mandatory points and 20 tradable points.
The mandatory points breakdown is as follows:
- 20 points for a job offer from a UK sponsor
- 20 points if the job offer meets the required skill level
- 10 points for passing the English Language test
No, the Home Office abolished the need to conduct the Labour Market Test when it replaced the Tier 2 visa with a Skilled Worker visa.
You still, however, have to prove that you have a genuine vacancy.
To sponsor employees under the Skilled Worker visa, you’ll need to pay the highest of the following options:
- £25,600 per year
- £10.10 per hour
- The ‘going rate’ for the type of job offered
You can pay between 70% and 90% as long as the salary is £20,480 if the job role is a shortage occupation.
Once you’ve supported your employees to apply online and presented the required documents, you can expect a reply from the Home Office within 3 weeks.
